Append Two Data sets with different fields

Question

Hi,

I am sure there is a simple solution to this, but I am attempting to append two data sets with a mix of similar and different field headings. I simply want the 'different' fields to be added as per the example below. Is this possible at all?

If you use the Union tool in its default setting - autoconfig by name - you will achieve what you need.

You can use the union tool to achieve this. It will essentially combine all fields and all records. Let me know if that works!
