Erasing extra blank rows when inputting data in from excel sheet?

Hi, I am fairly new to Alteryx and am inputting an excel sheet in with 7 rows of data. However Alteryx then adds nulls to all the blank rows after when I run? How do I only copy in the rows filled in on the sheet. The option to input select range is not clickable? Thanks

Hi @tara,

If the empty rows are at the top of your excel sheet, then in your input tool you are able to set the configuration to 'Start Data Import on Line' and specify this to skip the first X rows which are empty.

If they are not the first rows then you can either use a Filter Tool and set the Filter to select values from a specific field that do not equal (!=) Null.

Alternatively, the Select Records Tool allows you to define specific rows within your data that you would like to use. This can be individual rows, or a selection of rows; e.g 5, 8-20
