Output to SAS dataset

Question

I output a final result to both a .yxdb and to a SAS  .sas7bdat file.   The data is exactly the same - the 2 files are fed by the same Union tool.  The .yxdb is 147mb and the SAS dataset is 10.7 GB.  Is there some formatting or data type tweaking that I should do to keep the SAS dataset from being so large?

Unfortunately, SAS files will eventually be much bigger in size than .yxdb files.

.YXDB files are extremely compact.

Just out of curiosity, how many rows and columns are you writing to this sas7bdat file?
