Input column lengths into input tools in db or input data

Is there a limit on the number of characters a column header can have when using the input in db tool or the input data tool?

I've had a header be as long as twenty thousand characters without an incident.

Just to make sure - you have an individual column header over 20k characters? Not the actual value (field) of the column.
