Subscription (Studio) Workflow Credentials not working

Gallery admin Subscriptions tab:
Credentials setting for workflows: Use default credentials
I created workflow credentials based on my user id & password.
I added my studio (GPS) under Users and Studios.

There's a workflow in my studio that runs fine for me, but when someone else tries to run it, it doesn't seem to be using either my credentials or the actual user's credentials because it fails with the ol' "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server: Login failed for user ...." message.

What am I missing?

Hi @nhunter,

This error was occurring because the workflow was not being run in the Gallery with specified credentials. The Gallery Admin worked with Alteryx Customer Support to determine the cause of the issue and the options for resolving it, which include some form of Workflow Credentials or a Run As User.

By default, AlteryxEngineCmd processes orchestrated by AlteryxService are run as the Local System account. The above links discuss the preferred ways to execute workflows on the server with an account other than Local System. This is especially important when running workflows with MS SQL Server connections where the SQL Server environment is set up for Windows Authentication - the Local System account won't be able to authenticate to SQL Server.
