Challenge #130: Is There an Echo in Here?

You have a source system that doesn't seem to be working quite as expected. The system will frequently take any given word and duplicate it within a string. You job is to clean it up! Below we have a few sample phrases that are indicative of the system's problem. Find all words that have duplicate consecutive words and reduce the duplication to a single word again!

Replace it with

Spent around 30 minutes but it's very worthwhile.

Though not the first similar one tool solution in this thread, still my first solution of an Alteryx weekly challenge. This solution seems to address 'bigger' echo, e.g. when the word occurs consecutively more than two times. Looking forward to check on the past challenges too!.

Hello,

Although i tried the regex way I could not get it to work however I did it really quick using many tools. I am struggling a bit learning the regex way, does anyone know of any online courses/documentation which is not incredibly complicate! I did find this cheat sheet which has been helpful doing some bits https://www.cheatography.com/davechild/cheat-sheets/regular-expressions/pdf/ in other work!
