DropDown Tool Connect to SQL as External Source

Several months ago, I had previously done a proof of concept workflow that was connecting a dropdown tool to a SQL DB but never went further with it. Now I have an actual use case that I want to do that for and I can no longer set up a SQL query in the Drop Down tool. Has this feature been deprecated or moved somewhere?

Interesting - did you upgrade recently? If so, your DCM setting might've change to DCM only - I would go to Options > User Settings > Edit User Settings and Override DCM to DCM Optional to see if that fixes it

Nope nothing should have changed! Can you show us what you set up and what seems to have changed on your side?

So that's the thing, when I open the old sample workflow, the dropdown tool is now empty.

What I have tried doing now is External Source and then in the properties Dropdown I pick Other Databases but that isn't opening any additional windows or anything:

If I pick file then it just opens up the regular file selection
