Can we have variables for target paths

Hello Team,

Im new to Alteryx and my team planning to go away from SSIS and do the same in Alteryx , In SSIS we can have variables and paths .we did that and implemented . but in Alteryx can we do that .If so can you direct me how to achieve this . Any links would be helpful

Yes, you can use variables. Any data in any field can be set as a variable. What exactly do you need?

Thanks for reaching out .. we have a shared path like "C:\somefolder\directory\ so wanted to get this path in alteryx "C:\somefolder\directory" .. i have no clue how it is done so wanted to check.

Ok
You can set the path as an absolute path or you can set a path as a variable and then Alteryx will open it.

You have the Input Tool. When you browse to a file and select it you will set a fixed path to that file. Or you can set a path in a field and then asked Alteryx to use it and open that file.

If you would like to have flexibility and let the user select the file, then you can build Analytical App, adding File Browse tool and then the user will be able to select files from the User Interface on Alteryx Server (Gallery)

No, User will not have access and the job will be scheduled daily/weekly/monthly. im looking at the Alteryx Academy training now ..
