Excel template with pivot and formula

Question

I have a project to convert an existing excel report to Alteryx automation to produce daily. The report has multiple tabs - Source Data, Summary in Pivot with slicer and formula. I hope anyone can help me create excel template that preserves all the reporting logic. Thank you!

If you're needing to write the information to a standardized format in excel for your output, the template handling can either be accomplished using Run Command to copy/paste the template and then your workflow will write to that new copy.  Or you can use BLOB Tool to copy/paste template and then write to it.  BLOB is the better of the two options in most cases.  -Jay

To automate your Excel report in Alteryx every day, first import the source data into Alteryx workflows. Then use the Summarize tool to group and add up the data to recreate the pivot logic. You can use filter tools or parameterized inputs to mimic slicer functionality. You should also use Formula tools to rebuild formulas to match Excel calculations. Finally, put the results into an Excel template that looks like your current layout. Make sure that the Summary tab is created automatically each time you run it. This keeps all of the reporting logic but makes it automatic.
