Dynamic Rename Issue, Column Rename based on Date.

Hi All,

This is the data, I am working on, payments schedule from a certain date (November 2025 in this instance)

I need to Dynamically Rename the Column Headers Payment 1, Payment 2 etc to the dates that the payment is done which is usually the next month. I have tried using the Formula option in Dynamic Rename Tool, tried creating a mapping table with dates etc to get the Column header changed but to no avail. I am sure I am messing it up somewhere.

This would be the desired output:

I have multiple Sheets in my Excel with Payment plans starting from Sep 2025 till Feb 2026. I tried using the take input from Right Rows option but found it very limiting since I would have to keep changing the data every month when we create it for a new month and it is not dynamic in that sense.

Can help me set this up please?

Play around with the Key/Group and Value Columns.

for now, in Transpose, add those new columns in Key Columns, the Value Columns should be Payment and Balance.

In crosstab, add those new column in group columns, the rest should not change.

If I Add more data in the row like Customer ID, Cust Name, Loan ID, Loan Start and End Date etc and use the workflow after a few tweaks, it doesn't show the Extra data in the final output after the cross-tab function, I tried changing the values, but to no avail.

Output would be the same as before however just more data added in the row.

Sorry I just started Alteryx and have jumped into it headfirst.

if each sheet only 1 line, you can follow this ways.

1. Transpose the columns

2. calculate the payment date for each period, ("Payment: 1" to add 1 month to period, "Payment: 2" add 2 month to the period etc.)

3. create New_Name use this payment period and [Name] (with placeholder 1 for payment, 2 for balance).

4. crosstab with New_Name

5. create final name with dynamic rename
