Using Look Up Table

Question

Hello and good day,

I would like your assistance in retrieving the "Y" flag from the lookup table. I have attached example files: a dummy file and a lookup table. The "Short Name" in the dummy file should be matched against the lookup table. When a match is found, the corresponding value ("Y" or "0") should be supplied to the "Credit Union" column in the dummy file.

Hi @KamenRider a combination of a Join tool and formula tool to replace the the corresponding values and a union to achieve your desired results.

Since the fields you're "joining" on aren't integers, my preference is to use the Find Replace Tool.  It works like Excel's VLOOKUP in a sense, but allows full or partial matching with case-insensitivity.  And if you need the results to behave like a LEFT join, then you can avoid some extra tools.

I did notice that there were multiples of some values though in your lookup table.  So I removed the unwanted "US Bank" field and filtered down to only values that were a "Y" for "Credit Union" assuming you just wanted a "Y" flag when present and you didn't want multiple returned results if NULL()'s were present?

Workflow is also attached for reference.  From there you can apply your logic to account for the two Credit Union fields and how you want to regard the responses.
