Chained Analytic App

Can you anyone help me with below in creating workflow -

I want to create chained analytic app.

first app will be having textbox which will be used to paste folder dir.

once pasted i will be running the worklow.

i want second app to use the same folder directory which i pasted in first app without asking to paste the dir again.

Note - Folders are dynamic not static

is this possible..if yes it will be very helpful if anyone can build me sample workflow.

Hi,

Instead of chained app, i created batch macro.

And connected both with control container

Once my analytic app transformation gets competed, my batch macro takes same folder path and runs the macro and generates output.

If you want only to use the same path why you would like to use chained app?

Is there any dependency between the 2 workflows?

Cannot do the work for you, it is not even hard. You need to create the 2 workflows and then connect them.

Yes there is dependency in workflows and both workflows contains different logic style.

Based on your solution, already tried creating two workflows and connected with each other, but second analytic app is not able to read the or get folder path from first chained app.

How did you chain the 2 workflows?

What is the first tool that you have in the 2nd workflow and what is the end of the first workflow?

When you are chaining 2 workflows it means that when one workflow is done the other one is triggered and get into action.

Are you getting any error message when running the first workflow?

Im chaining second Analytics app using interface designer on success to completions im adding second Analytics app.

In second Analytics app im hiding input textbox

So when im running the first worklfow pasting directory it works but as soon as second Analytics app runs it says error directory is not set because in second Analytics app directory i have set is [#1] using update action

If in the 2nd Analytic app you are hiding the input textbox how that app knows what is the path, where the data of the path come to the 2nd app?

Thats the workaround im looking for if you see the query i have stated that once the folder directory is pasted i dont want dialog box to be appeared again from analytic app 2 to ask for pasting folder directory

So is that possible to pass input of folder directory from first app1 to app2.

Have you try to write out the path from App 1 to a file and then connect that file to the 2nd App User Interface as external source?
