Execute macro workflows on Alteryx Server

Hi all!

I would like to publish my workflow which uses macros to Alteryx Server.

I have read in previous posts that it is necessary to select the macro via "Manage Workflow Assets".

Which steps do I need to take in order to make it possible that someone can actually execute the workflow on Alteryx Server (meaning the blue "Run" button is available)? So far it is not possible.

I really appreciate any help that you can offer!

Hi @kim09 ,

To have the run button available, you need to guarantee you are publishing either a Workflow (.yxmd) or an Analytic App (.yxzp).

If you have a workflow with a macro inside, you can run it in the Gallery without issues. If that is what you did, my assumption is that you dropped an interface tool in your workflow and the workflow was automatically changed to a macro, which you can check by going to the configuration panel as shown below.

Hi @fmvizcaino,

thank you very much for your help! I can now Run the workflow in Alteryx Server.

However, I am facing some performance issues, the workflow takes ages to load... Do you perhaps know how this problem can be solved? Might it be related to the Macro in the workflow?
