Scheduling Workflow on Designer Desktop

Hello, everyone.

I use Alteryx Designer to develop workflows and then schedule them using Alteryx Server.
However, I have seen that it is possible to schedule workflows on a PC using the controller option. Does this work like the server?

With AlteryxOne you'll have server as a part of that. So the differentiation is no longer necessary. -Jay

Alteryx One includes Server if you are on the Enterprise edition - no edition includes Desktop Scheduler as it is no longer sold, it is only in documentation for the few who still have it as a legacy item

Are you using AlteryxOne? If so, you can schedule locally.

If not, you won't be able to schedule locally unless you have that specific legacy license (no longer available) for the local scheduler. There are some other options like using the AlteryxEngineCmd + Windows Task Scheduler, but here too this needs to be enabled for your license and is not typical.

Bottom line: Scheduling is reserved for Gallery (server) and/or in AlteryxOne.

What article are you referring to @sebenciven ? Yes there used to be Desktop Scheduler, but this is no longer sold to my knowledge. Server is the way to schedule Desktop workflows
