Space removal when importing txt file to Alteryx

Hi all,

I got an issue when importing txt file into Alteryx.

My column got (and required) 8 characters. For those rows not having this value, it contains 8 whitespaces. However, when I imported the file into Alteryx, choosing delimiters, it automatically removed the space, leaving these values blank. The expected outcome is a value with 8 whitespaces.

Are there any ways to fix this? Thanks in advance

Hi @littlewinter_2802 you can use a formula like Padleft or padright to ensure you have 8 characters in a column and using a field type like string should support whitespaces as well as If testing if Null then 8 whitespaces. Numeric columns however would not support whitespace.
