Issues with the "PAT Publish to Tableau Server" error code: 500000

Hi everyone,

I am seeking assistance with an issue I’m encountering while using the Publish to Tableau Server Tool. The tool is currently failing with the following errors:

-- Error: PAT Publish to Tableau Server (6): Tool #33: Tool #4: Tableau Server API Request (Sign-in) Error Code 500000: Internal Server Error -- The server encountered an error and cannot complete your request. Contact your server administrator.

-- Error: PAT Publish to Tableau Server (6): TableauServer.UploadChunks (238): Iteration #1: Tool #11: Error setting URL "/api/2.8/sites//fileUploads/": No host part in the URL

Additionally, within the macro, the 'TableauServer.OutputDataConditionally' tool is failing as shown in the attached image.

Has anyone encountered these specific errors or have any suggestions on how to resolve them?

Hi @rdoddi,

That macro was made as a stop-gap when the official publish to tableau server tool hadn't implemented PAT authentication yet. I would recommend using the Alteryx created Tableau Output Tool (https://help.alteryx.com/current/en/designer/tools/connectors/tableau-output-tool.html) which has been updated much more recently than 2022.
