Want to change Column Name like FY26, FY25 Nov

Question

Hi Team,

I have below data where 7 columns are appearing and last 4 columns have fiscal year and month Nov. so, fiscal year and Month will change every month accordingly which month I am doing this activity. please let me know how columns name I can change dynamically by using interface tools or any other tool. I want to select the Fiscal year and month so there should be option to pick accordingly.

There's a bunch of different ways you could approach this.  But one way that jumps to mind is using a static Text Input to get you started, then using Formula to create the dynamic behavior that you want.  Use that as your Field Names through the Dynamic Rename Tool:

Admittedly, this probably doesn't scale perfectly, and I'm not exactly sure how dynamic you need those Months (and years?), but I think the concept of this solution should help you get started in adapting to your specific needs.  Note that my months are dynamically showing "February" since that's the month we're in and that's what I chose to illustrate as the dynamic behavior.  Your needs will vary.

Zooming out, I'm not sure I understand why your data is coming in with either the "wrong" Month or Year headers such that you have to update them on your own.  Nor do I understand why there would be such variability in the data that's being passed to you.

I would recommend working upstream to: (1) Get your data feed to be more consistent and stable so you can handle the field names with less variability, and (2) get the upstream data feed to handle the names.

But my suspicion is that you have these set calculations and you could probably assign more generic field name ID's and then use those to build out field name rules.  You could use the following couple of REGEX statements to dynamically identify and replace the FY## parts and the "Mon" pieces, but you have to have a way to know whether it's current year or previous year.

REGEX_Replace([Field], "(?i)\b(Jan|Feb|Mar|Apr|May|Jun|Jul|Aug|Sep|Oct|Nov|Dec)\b", DateTimeFormat(DateTimeNow(), "%b"))

REGEX_Replace([Field], "(?i)\bFY\d{2}\b", "FY" + Right(ToString(DateTimeYear(DateTimeNow()) + 0),2))

Sure, there are ways that you can compare the existing values and identify which is current month/year vs which is previous, but that's a lot of extra IF/THEN code logic that I think is unnecessary if you resolve this issue upstream.

Otherwise, you can just adapt my previous example to add in the additional columns, modify the IF statement and go from there.  -Jay
