Decrypting Zip folder from UNC Foder Path using run command tool.

Hello All,

I would like to extract files from password protected zip folder. We have these zip files created in UNC folder path and would like to extract files from these zip files using Alteryx run command tool automatically.

I am very new for run command tool.

Can anyone help me with this.

Thanks for response, I have already searched all these pointers and tried with "RUn Command tool". But as i am using UNC path, my command for decrypting zip folder is not working.

whenever workflow ran and CMD opend through alteryx it is redirecting to path C:windows/.  so my command is not executing correctly.

This should be possible, but I think you should advocate for input's that aren't behind a password protected zip file...

If your organization is generating the zip files anyway, I would recommend you have the upstream process generate those files in the zip, for whomever they are appropriate for as well as a flat file, or CSV file for your use so you can avoid working with the zip file altogether.

But if that's not possible you should be able to use Run Command + 7zip, for example to pass the password over and extract.  Then you would bring the file in as an input.  The breakdown with this approach is you're going to either have to know what the file is named or use directory input + dynamic input.  Which is a lot of finagling to get this to work.

Another approach is to use the Python tool to handle the extraction and password passing.....

In either situation, though, you have to manually manage the password each time (unless the PW is static) which would be a pain.

So... not a solution, but more guidance on what to research and try.  Hope this helps get you started, -Jay
