Hello, 

i need to create a batch macro for this input file to get all data from all these sheets. i mean on my mail workflow i will have text input tool with list of necessary sheets name then connect that text input tool to batch macro so then i will have data only from those sheets listed on my text input. i build a macro but somehow its picks data only for a specific sheet not from all. unfortunately because of employer restriction i can't share my workflow.

Two solutions, both can be found in the attached workflow:

1. Since the schema is identical and the data types are the same, reading in the sheet names using Input Data tool and reading in the sheets using Dynamic Input tool can be used, but even when the columns are ordered identically and the data types are the same, this method might fail when for example a string column contains no values in a given sheet, or in one sheet a string column contains characters from non-English alphabet and in another sheet there is no such case, which might also lead to a failure of reading in all the sheets all at once. After reading in the sheet names, you can filter out the unnecessary sheet names before proceeding with the Dynamic Input tool. For the sake of this example, the sheet Diff is excluded. You can adjust this as necessary.

Since using batch macros are a more reliable way of reading in multiple sheets while avoiding any potential schema errors, you can either prepare a batch macro of your own, or use one of the available macros to filter the data as necessary. Please read below for the use of a sample batch macro. Also feel free to take a look at the configuration of this macro and adapt any part of it to your own macro.

2. The NeoInfiniTech CFMI macro makes it possible to process multiple files and/or sheets and filter them as necessary. You only need to specify the full path of the file under the General Settings and Info tab, and then you can copy-paste the "sheets to be included" list from your Text Input tool into the Sheet names to include or exclude list after selecting Include specified sheet names mode. Please make sure that CReW Macros are installed first to avoid any potential errors. If you are on a version of Alteryx Designer 2023.1 to 2024.2, install NeoInfiniTech CFMI v23. For 2025.1 and later, you can install NeoInfiniTech CFMI v25.
