Sharepoint input(latest) on Email with input file link.

Hello everyone.

currently i pick latest file from sharepoint location and then paste it into email body. is there a way to do this using alteryx. please note that i dont have email tool and sharepoint tool access on alteryx in my organisation.

picking the latest file i have achieved in alteryx, but how to get the latest file(excel/csv) with its sharepoint link(the user may click on the link and the file opens) so i can paste it into the email body is where i am getting stuck. will appreciate any help.

Not sure how emails can be sent without using the Email tool in Alteryx. You may want to consider saving the files by using the same file name and location, so each time you always pick up the latest version. In addition, the share link for the file would remain the same, which means you can include the file share link directly in your email body. Hope this helps

What you’re running into is really a tooling limitation, not an Alteryx logic problem. Without the SharePoint tools, Alteryx can’t generate or fetch a sharing URL. And without the Email tool, it can’t send mail at all. So the workaround thinking is right. If the file always lives in the same SharePoint path and keeps the same name, the link never changes. Alteryx can still identify and overwrite the latest file locally or via mapped drive logic. Then you manually embed that fixed link website in the email template outside Alteryx. In this setup, Alteryx handles the data freshness, not the communication. It’s not elegant, but it’s usually how locked-down environments handle it.
