Description:
We are experiencing significant issues with users running complex SQL queries in Alteryx version 2025.1, specifically when connecting to our CDH environment. Our use case requires Kerberos authentication with impersonation enabled, as multiple teams access the CDH connection and robust data protection is essential.
Currently, we encounter impersonation errors with Kerberos authentication while using the Simba Trino ODBC connector. After investigation, we identified that Simba Trino ODBC connector version 2.3.1.1002 (released 2025-05-19) includes a critical fix for Kerberos impersonation, as highlighted in the attached release notes image:
- [PRESO-1736] Skip impersonation(Kerberos) support
The connector now supports skip impersonation(Kerberos). For more information, see the Installation and Configuration Guide.

Additional Challenge:
This specific driver version (2.3.1.1002) cannot be downloaded directly from the vendor’s website. While older versions of the Simba Trino ODBC connector are available in the Alteryx marketplace, the required version is not. We urgently need Alteryx to onboard this licensed version into your marketplace or distribution channels so that our teams can download and use it.
Request:
- Please confirm if Alteryx 2025.1 is compatible with Simba Trino ODBC connector version 2.3.1.1002.
- If not, advise on the roadmap for supporting this version, as it is essential for our Kerberos impersonation requirements and data protection policies.
- Please onboard Simba Trino ODBC connector version 2.3.1.1002 into the Alteryx marketplace so licensed customers can download it, as is possible for earlier versions.
- Provide guidance on how to upgrade or configure Alteryx to use this specific connector version.
Impact:
- Multiple teams are unable to securely access data due to impersonation errors.
- Data protection and compliance requirements are at risk without proper Kerberos support.
- Project delivery and business operations are being delayed due to the lack of access to the required driver version.
Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter. We look forward to your prompt response and resolution.
