Alteryx server upgrade and backup

Question

Hello All,

I need some help in Alteryx server upgrade, as we currently have version 2022.3 and need to upgrade to 2024.1 to leverage the existing workflows that are created in newer version, I also need to help in taking backup before upgrading. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Upgrading from 2022.3 to newer version involves Mongo DB migration because the schema of Mongo DB is changed.

If you proceed upgrading as per manual, you should be asked to perform 'Mongo DB migration' in the process of upgrading.

Basically you don't need to restore Mongo DB w/ backup unless upgrading is failed.

I have performed upgrading the Alteryx server version to 2024.1 by taking MongoDB backup and restore the backup once server is installed, but then I see Alteryx service has stopped when am trying to start manually it says below message. Below is the service log: AlteryxService_SvcReportEvent: App message " 2024-10-04 16:39:56.656000,ERROR,6516,AlteryxService,,,,,,,,,"AlteryxService_LogStartupError: There was an error starting the Alteryx Service "

It is not an easy process if you haven`t done this before.
