Incorrect Data in Input Tool

Question

Hi everyone!

Alteryx seems to mess up one column of data in my Excel file. through the input tool itself. It reads as V_String, which I believe is correct, but it adds "0003" and "0006" at the end of the rows that do not end with "A" or "(asset....)".

Can someone please help me understand what is happening and how to fix the issue? I have attached a sample of the data I am using as well as a screenshot of what Alteryx reads it as.

It did not seem to work for me so a colleague helped me out with a formula to replace the additional characters. Thank you for your solution anyway! Appreciate your time and effort!

I am not sure why its doing this, but I was able to get the suffix numbers to go away if I did a text to columns in Excel and change the column to Text instead of Number. Save the file and then use the input tool. It doesnt add the 0003 and 0006 anymore. Do you have the ability to change the data type before bringing it into Alteryx?
