Queries related to uploading and scheduling workflows

Hi,

I was asked to deploy some workflows in the Alteryx server's Production environment (.yxmd file format). The workflow additionally references two Macros (.yxmc files), both of which also need to be published in the server.

In Alteryx Designer, the scripts runs without any issues.

My questions-

Q1. Do I have to submit all three at once (1 main workflow and 2 macros) or just the main workflow to the server? Is it required to upload the macros also in the server to run the main workflow?

Q2. The connection of the main script has been updated to point to the Production database. Are there any connection points I need to set up before uploading or scheduling the workflows.

Hi @EN6924 

1)When you are publishing the workflow to the gallery, you can select which assets you gonna upload together with it. If you chose to upload (flag, like in the second image bellow) the macros with the workflow, they will be uploaded together with it and it will work. (There are other ways to deal with this, but i consider this the easiest one to start with).

2)The same ODBC connection to the database that you use at your local machine must be configured on the Server machine too. The best way here is to speak with your Alteryx Server admin about it, he will set it there and say to you how to proceed.
