Fuzzy Match Multi-Layer Match Fields

Question

Hello,

I am trying to use Fuzzy Match for the first time, I my files so I have the name column, the file name, first name, last name, and then record ID. When I try to fuzzy match only on last name - I pull back multiple matches. However, when I add first name, I do not get any matches. It seems like by adding a second layer to the match fields, I am messing it up. I have tried adjusting the match threshold for each individual field name, but it does not help. Has anyone run into this? Thank you in advance!

@christine_assaad I tried it that way - unfortunately I still am getting the same thing! I am not sure. I even put a dummy name that is the exact same. No luck. Thank you for your help!

Hi @bridgethutter

I would  put the Record ID tool before the Join tool, One Record ID tool per data stream.

If the first stream has 500 records; you can set the first Record ID to start from 1. As for the second stream, you can set its Record ID tool to start from 501 or even 1000 (any number as long as they don't overlap).
