The Alteryx SparkED data analytics education program held a Winter School training in early January for faculty who are ready to teach or already teaching data analytics with the SparkED program. 72 educators from 56 schools participated, and they represented broad fields of study including business, accounting, public affairs, engineering, information technology, and management. The goals of Winter School were to train new and existing educators on Alteryx Designer, enable educators to utilize our curriculum resources, and encourage educators to become certified. The program was also designed to inspire SparkED educators through special guests including industry experts and experienced SparkED educators who are successfully incorporating data analytics into their programs. Participants had positive feedback, including this quote from Jack Cathey, UNC Charlotte, “I have been using and teaching Alteryx for around 5 years. It is a wonderful tool to get students thinking about data and analytics. The support Alteryx and SparkED provide to the academic community is unmatched! I highly recommend Alteryx to others teaching accounting and analytics.” We congratulate these educators for their commitment to empowering their students with data analytics.
