Last week we kicked off the Analytics Unchained campaign which is about freeing organizations and analyst from slow legacy platforms like SAS. We introduced the “5 Questions You Should Ask Before You Use SAS for Your Next Analytics Project” whitepaper. But now it is all about the customers, the organizations that Alteryx works with every day to help improve their business outcomes by answering complex business questions faster and easier. Take a look at this video, which discusses how organizations are able to speed up the delivery of data through faster processing in some cases up to 100 times faster than they were in SAS.

Organizations like Rentrak, a global media measurement and research company, are responsible for collecting and processing massive amounts of set top box data for evaluation and distribution. Tracking viewing behaviors from over 20 million televisions across 210 markets means a lot of data. So being able to process that data in a timely manner is important to their business. According to David Algranati, SVP of Product Innovation and Custom Research, they took a month’s worth of data, and loaded it into a Calgary instance in Alteryx and ran a relatively simple query that they used to run in SAS, which would take quite a bit of time. “Through this Calgary instance it took under 60 seconds to get the same the same output that was taking me hours before.”

Others like AnalyticsIQ, an analytics consulting firm that specializes in helping businesses make the best marketing and risk decisions. They do this through their extensive business targeting database that contains a unique combination of over 1,500 demographic, psychographic, attitudinal, and econometric attributes. So like Rentrak, data is their business and it is what they use to help make decisions every day. According to Michael Hattub, COO, “It(Alteryx) did all of the things SAS would do, but without having to take two, three, or four hours for each process to run. We could run a job in three hours that use to take 18 hours in SAS, and that’s probably being kind.”

These are just a couple examples of how Alteryx is making it easier for businesses to make faster, more informed decisions. Organizations can no longer afford to rely on slow proprietary software that is not designed for today’s analyst. No longer should the business have to wait days and weeks for data specialist or SAS coders to deliver the data and insight that business needs to make decisions. Making analytics, faster and easier is what matters.

I think Greg Bucko, Manager of Customer Insights for Southern States Cooperative sums it up nicely. “Most people integrated in the business don’t need to be writing code in the 21st century.”

Watch this video to learn how Alteryx customers have found a way to improve their processing time as well as analytics experience, resulting in a faster time to insight.

Also it would be so nice to have a few benchmarks for Alteryx and SAS use cases.

It may be delivered using open data sets so that any SAS and Alteryx user can duplicate the benchmark on their machines,

don't you agree?
