Alteryx Designer to Alteryx Server and to "Alteryx Cluster"

There is Alteryx Designer, Alteryx Server and now why not an "Alteryx Cluster"?

 

  • I've seen some vendors merging the self-service analytics tools with Hadoop
  • I presume they believe the business unit needs to create a data lake for a specific purpose for a specific time span (like a dedicated analytics project etc.), not so frequently but yes they do.
  • And these vendors too want this without a need for full stack IT developers or having to invest in huge bare metal databases...

Does it sound attractive to you to build a Alteryx Server+Hortonworks bundle or package that you may set it on 2 or more machines and your compute cluster is ready to go?!

 

As far as I know Alteryx Server has MongoDB installed on it

guess not to create a data lake but to store gallery macros and version history...

Figured out from the server booklet that this is doable, Alteryx server scales with worker nodes to a compute cluster

and with storage nodes to a MongoDB based cluster but doesn't seem to act like a stand-alone document based DB.

 

Seems only used for storing Alteryx Server input, workflow version and outputs...

The status of this idea has been changed to 'Inactive'. This status indicates that:

 

1. The idea has not had activity in the form of likes or comments in over a year.

2. The idea has not reached ten likes.

3. The idea is still in the 'New Idea' status. 

 

However, this doesn't mean your idea won't be implemented! The Community can still like and comment on this idea. With enough renewed interest, this idea can be brought back into the 'New Idea' status.
