Hi,
I am trying to Filter Type = Parent Company out of my dataset and append it to the rows until THE NEXT Parent company shows.
It is kind of hard for me to think about, anyone have ideas on how to do this?
I have this dataset -
Type | Description | Balance YTD |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | 5 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | 10 |
Subsidiary | Subsidiary 99999 | 15 |
Regional Sub | Regional Sub 1 | 20 |
Regional Sub | Regional Sub 2 | 25 |
Regional Sub | Regional Sub 3 | 30 |
Subsidiary | Subsidiary 99998 | 35 |
Regional Sub | Regional Sub 4 | 40 |
Regional Sub | Regional Sub 5 | 45 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10002 | 50 |
Subsidiary | Subsidiary 99997 | 55 |
And want this as an output
Type2 | Description2 | Type | Description | Balance YTD |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | Subsidiary | Subsidiary 99999 | 15 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | Regional Sub | Regional Sub 1 | 20 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | Regional Sub | Regional Sub 2 | 25 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | Regional Sub | Regional Sub 3 | 30 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | Subsidiary | Subsidiary 99998 | 35 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | Regional Sub | Regional Sub 4 | 40 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10001 | Regional Sub | Regional Sub 5 | 45 |
Parent Company | Parent Company 10002 | Subsidiary | Subsidiary 99997 | 55 |

Hi @wonka1234 you can use a multi-row tool to flag your data into different sections then filter then join the data to produce the described output. I mocked up an example to showcase this.
@wonka1234 this should help. This gets what you wanted but the first row would be dropped like your example.
